Dear WhAAM volunteer, We have begun partnering with the Whatcom Volunteer Center to help recruit, keep track of, and reward volunteers. I met with them recently, and they are the nicest people in the world. What does this mean for you? First, all WhAAM volunteers need to enroll with Whatcom Volunteer Center:
http://www.whatcomvolunteer.org/pdf%20files/Volunteer%20Enrollment%20Fall%202006.pdf It's a basic precaution, one that WVC wants us to do. Now, if, say, you've been arrested in the past, it doesn't necessarily mean you can't work for WhAAM. What we're looking for mainly is crimes against children. You cheated on your taxes and spent a little time in a minimum security prison? You can still sell bottled water at the No-Fi show.
Cheers, volunteers! Please email me with any questions. All of this will go on the website soon, and extra forms will be available at the venue in one of the white binders. Ross This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it (360) 220 - 7408 |
